20 Stay-at-home Valentine’s Date Ideas

Whether it be quarantining, parenting, or life getting in the way, you might find yourself staying home this Valentine’s Day. But that doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate! Stay-at-home dates can still be romantic, and they give you a chance to really connect with your partner. We have twenty ideas to help you make your night special, so keep on reading!

1. Write down your love story. Start from the beginning: how you met, your first date, your first kiss, etc. This is a fun way to reminisce, and it can be a great keepsake for your children.

2. Have a take-out picnic. Order takeout or delivery from your favorite restaurant, lay out a blanket and some candles, and snuggle up for a romantic meal.

3. Give each other massages. Who doesn’t love a good massage? This activity is sure to kick the romance up a notch, so break out some lotion and get to it!

4. Build a fort. Throw it back to your childhood! Build a fort together using all of the blankets and pillows you have. You can watch movies, play games, or just hangout and talk.

5. Sing Karaoke. Show off your skills (or lack of) and jam out to some of your favorite songs.

6. Have a movie night. Cozy up on the couch, put on a movie you both enjoy, and don’t forget the concessions!

7. Binge watch your favorite series. We’ve all got that one series we keep going back to. (The Office, anyone?) Put on your favorite show and see how many episodes you can watch!

8. Go star gazing outside. Spread out some blankets and pillows in your backyard (weather permitting) and see how many constellations you can find.

9. Play the question game. You probably think you know each other pretty well, but you might be surprised! Write down some creative, funny, or romantic questions on slips of paper, draw them out, then answer them.

10. Try yoga. Yoga is a wonderful way to get closer to one another — both emotionally and physically! Here are some poses to get you started.

11. Make dinner together — with a twist! Have each person create a menu complete with appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Pick dishes from both menus then cook them for each other.

12. Have a game night. Grab some of your favorite board games or card games and enjoy some friendly competition. Make sure to come up with a cool prize for the winner!

13. Work on a puzzle together. This is a fun, simple activity to simultaneously get your minds going and grow closer to one another.

14. Play video games. Break out your favorite console and play some classics, or try out a new game you’ve never played before.

15. Learn a new ballroom dance. Look up a tutorial on YouTube and dance the night away!

16. Have a backyard campout. Pitch a tent, grab your sleeping bags, and snuggle up. (Bonus: start a campfire to really heat things up!)

17. Draw each other. Don’t worry if you have poor art skills — that’s half the fun! Just grab paper, pencils, and maybe some paint if you want to get a little crazy.

18. Have a family date night. Inviting your kids on your date can make for some great memories! Check out this post for a few ideas.

19. Create scavenger hunts for each other. This is a fun, unique way to give gifts or sweets to one another!

20. Write letters to each other. Take some time to sit down and write a heartfelt love note to your partner, then read them aloud together.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
