Everybody knows Easter is all about the sweets, and we’ve got just the recipe to help you impress your family and friends this weekend! These adorable Cinnamon Sugar Bunny Twists consist of only 5 ingredients, making them the perfect, quick treat for any upcoming festivities. Your kids will love helping you make this fun pastry, and your guests won’t be able to resist the delicious, cinnamon-y goodness. So what are you waiting for? Hop to it!
Ingredients
1 pkg. frozen puff pastry sheets
4 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. white frosting
Directions
1) Set out the pastry sheets to thaw for about 45 minutes. They should be soft enough to handle, but cold to the touch.
2) Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
2) Unfold both pastry sheets and lay them flat. Brush melted butter on one side of each pastry sheet, leaving a 1/2 to 1 inch section on either side unbuttered.
3) Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a bowl, then pour the mixture over the buttered section of one pastry sheet.
4) Brush water along the unbuttered sections of the same sheet.
5) Lay the other pastry sheet on top, buttered side down.
6) Use a fork to crimp the edges where you brushed the water.
7) Using a pizza cutter, slice the pastry into thin strips from one crimped side to the other. This should yield between 12 – 16 pieces.
8) Fold each strip in half and twist them twice in the center. The result should be similar to the shapes pictured below, with a loop at the bottom and the crimped edges pointing upward.
9) Place the twists on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven for 17 – 18 minutes, until golden brown.
10) Let cool for 20 minutes. Then, use a piping bag and a star-shaped nozzle to create the frosting tails.
Enjoy!
Have a very “hoppy” Easter!
