Fourth of July Patriotic Punch

Okay, how cool is this drink? Using a little magic and some juice, you can make this fun, kid-friendly Patriotic Punch, too! Because honestly, there’s no better way to quench your thirst on the Fourth of July than with a red and blue beverage, and this is one that is sure to impress your guests. The only tricky part is figuring out which ingredients to get. Each juice must have a varying sugar content per ounce in order to get this cool layered effect, so you may have to do a little math in the store. (Or you can use the same juices we did if they’re available near you!) Find out how we made our punch down below!

Supplies

Red juice*
Blue juice*
Ice
Twizzlers (optional)

*Each juice should have a varying sugar content per ounce. To figure this out, simply divide the grams of sugar by how many ounces of liquid there are. We used Hawaiian Punch for the red juice and a Kool-Aid Soft Drink for the blue juice.

Directions

1) First, take the juice with the higher sugar content and pour it into a glass until it’s about 1/4 full.

2) Next, fill the glass with ice all the way to the top.

3) Very slowly, pour the juice with the lower sugar content over the ice. The ice will act as a buffer to prevent the juices from mixing, so make sure you are pouring directly on the ice.

4) As an optional finishing touch, you can make a Twizzler straw by cutting off the top and bottom of the licorice candy and sticking it in the punch.

And there you have it! A super fun, Patriotic Punch for all of your holiday festivities.

Happy Fourth of July!
