DIY Gold Leaf Garland

DIY-LEAF-GARLAND-HEADLINE 9

We like to think of garlands as necklaces for the home. Just like adding a necklace to complete your outfit, adding a touch of garland can complete the look of your home. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we thought these DIY Gold Leaf Garlands would be the perfect little “necklace” to spruce up your house for the holiday season! These Gold Leaf Garlands are so fun to make and can easily be interchanged depending on the holidays! (Snowflakes and ornaments for Christmas, hearts for Valentine’s Day, or even clovers for St. Patrick’s Day!)

Supplies Needed:

Artificial Leaves

Gold fast-drying Spray Paint

Branch

Clear String

Scissors

All the supplies can be found at your local craft store! Minus the branch which can be found right in your backyard!

2

Start by trimming  your branch to desired size. Then, cut the stems of the artificial leaves from their branch. (about 15-20 leaves will do the trick!)

3

After you’re done cutting the leaves, head outside to spray paint! Place the laves on craft paper, cardboard, or even newspaper to protect the ground from getting sprayed! Make sure to tape down the leaves so they stay put when you spray them.

4

Spray the tips of each leaf with your gold spray paint (or whichever color you prefer)! You can use as much or as little spray paint as you would like depending on how gold you want them.

6

Flip around the leaves and repeat on the backside!

Let dry for 10-15 minutes and take inside to start working on your masterpiece!

5

Cut your string to desired sizes and start tying the leaves to the branch! We simply tied the string to the stem of the leaf, and then tied the other end to the branch. Easy peasy! Then, use the extra string to create a loop that the branch can hang from.

7

Wa-lah! You now have a beautiful decor piece for your Thanksgiving party!
