Halloween will probably look a little different this year, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make the most of it! Using this guide, we hope to help you give your kids the best Halloween ever, pandemic or not. From spooky snacks to ghoulish games, here are a few ways you can make Halloween a little more special this year.
Snacks
Every good party has good food! These festive snacks are made from foods kids love, and they’re sure to put you in the Halloween spirit.
Jack O Lantern Snack Board
We love this snack board because it’s customizable to your little one’s tastes! All you’ll need is your child’s favorite orange and black foods to recreate this fun platter.
Silly Monster Apple Bites
This silly snack is sure to put a smile on your child’s face, and as a bonus, it’s super healthy, too!
Deliciously Rotten Deviled Eggs
Every Halloween party needs at least one spine-chilling snack! These “rotten” eggs certainly fill that roll while still bringing something delicious to the table.
Halloween Monster Cookies
Last but not least, these monstrous cookies are the perfect way to top off your frightening feast!
Crafts
Once your little witches and warlocks have bellies full of food, you can move on to arts and crafts! What better way to make this Halloween memorable than by creating a keepsake? Below are four fun crafts to get you started.
Popsicle Stick Witch and Black Cat
Using a few simple arts and craft supplies, you can create these magical popsicle stick characters. We love how versatile this craft is! You can stick to the black cat and witch, or you can let your little one’s imagination run wild with monsters and pumpkins and ghosts… oh my!
Paper Plate Spiders
These spell-binding spiders are one creepy crawler you won’t mind having in your home! This craft is so easy for kids to make, and they’re adorable decorations, too.
Coffee Filter Bats
Aren’t these bats just bewitching? You can recreate those enchanting wings using just coffee filters and markers!
Beaded Pipe Cleaner Pumpkin
This final spook-tacular craft doubles as a great motor skills activity! And it only requires two supplies: pipe cleaners and beads.
Games
Your Halloween party would not be complete without a hair-raising game or two! Here are a few activities that will hopefully add a little magic to your fun.
Pumpkin Bowling
In this exciting game, you will set up decorated tins, fill them with a toy or treat, and let your little one use a small pumpkin to knock them down. Then your child gets to keep whatever’s inside
Spider Web Motor Activity
For this activity, put tape in the shape of a web on the ground, scatter some Halloween-themed items, and have your little one pick them up without stepping off of the web.
Erase the Pumpkin
This game is best for a warmer climate (or inside if you don’t mind a little mess). Draw a pumpkin on a chalkboard and have your child “erase” it by throwing wet sponges at it!
Poke a Pumpkin
For this final game, you will need to decorate a piece of cardboard, glue plastic cups on it in the shape of a pumpkin, and put prizes in each of the cups. Then you will cover the openings with tissue paper, securing them with rubber bands. To play, have your child poke the tissue paper, breaking it open, and let them keep whatever’s inside!
